A: Yes there are updates. The last one was February 2013. The iBookstore may indicate the original publication date. Good news on the desktop front. Both versions of the iGuide can be read on a Mac (laptop or desktop) if you have upgraded to the new, free Mavericks OS. the latter now includes an iBook reader.
A: There are 2 ways to do this.
Method 1. From within the book.Search for the term "Update available". Go to that page (it is page v in the Front Matter), then follow instructions.
Method 2. From outside the book. You first have to delete the book from your device. To do this you open the iBooks app, then go to "Library" then click on "Edit". As soon as you do this you will then be able to select the book and then press the "Delete" button and then click "Done". You then go to the Apple iBookstore to find the iBook, and it should say "Download" since you already had it.The most current version of the book should then download.
